If you go to the following Kohler website http://www.kohlerplus.com/main_frame.asp  and to the right of where is asks you to log in is a link to enter as a guest. Then go to the search box at the top right and enter CV730-0026. Then click on the model number and to the right you will find two links. One is a "compare" and the second one is "Find Similiar". This is how to determine if this engine will interchange with yours or what modifications may need to be made. I will usually check the shortblock with gasket set first and if it is the same for both engines then most likely the engine would work, but you still may need to make some modifications to things such as the alternator or regulator.
